Mind Games

The words from Dee Cafarri in yesterdays blog really got me thinking.

One of the paragraphs that caught my was this;

‘Be grateful for the things in your life that you have or can do. Focussing on the good will have a positive effect on your mental health. When you are having a tough day and finding it hard to cope, focus on getting through the next day or even the next few hours rather than weeks or months. The sun will continue to rise and set. This situation will pass.’

Everyone will almost certainly be having ups and downs. I certainly am and I know other of others who are as well, so we need to remember those last two sentences ‘The sun will continue to rise and set. This situation will pass’.

A very special friend said to me once ‘if you’re having a down day, every single hour I want you to focus on a different positive that that you have in your life right now, and message them to me’. It worked – changing our mindset is so important.

Our minds are no different from the muscles we train at the gym. We work them and they adapt to the stimulus thrown at them. They don’t have a choice if we do it day in and day out. So train your mind the way you would a muscle – but with positive thoughts as the weights.

Why not message someone about it the way my friend suggested? When you write it down and share it, that thought process becomes more than just that, it starts to become your reality.
