I want to join the gym , what do I do next?
First step is to book an appointment with one of the trainers – this can be for just a casual chat to start with, or it could be for a trial session to see how you get on, or you may have made your mind up that you want to join and so we can organise your induction.
I’ve never used a gym before, what if I hate it?
We understand your worries on this front – not everyone loves the gym and not everyone feels confident just strolling in and getting on with. Please assured that you have nothing to worry about here – we have people from all walks of life and of all abilities, and everyone is made to feel welcome.
I’m not strong enough for the gym yet, what can I do?
The first step is the hardest, but its also the most rewarding. Starting slowly and building up will allow you to make small but steady incremental gains, and you’ll look back at where you started and be amazed! Believe us, there is no such thing as not being strong enough.
Whenever I’ve exercised before my back feels worse, is there any point?
We’re very experienced with all kinds of injuries. It maybe that in the past you have simply been doing the wrong thing. We’ll work carefully with you to design a programme specific to you which starts to fix the weak links that could be causing you problems.
I’ve had a knee replacement, what should I do?
A regular exercise program is a key part of recovery from your operation. A carefully designed programme will help you restore normal movement, build up strength in the surrounding muscles, ease pain and swelling and help to improve circulation. In short, it will enable you to get back to normal activities as soon as possible and increase the longevity of the knee joint itself.
I’m not sure I’ll stick to it
You might surprise yourself and enjoy it….. or if you don’t ever really enjoy the gym you’ll love the results! We try and make things fun, and the atmosphere here is great. What have you got to lose?!
