Specialist Neurological Exercise & Rehabilitation

Supporting movement, coordination and independence

Specialist Exercise for Neurological Conditions

Living with a neurological condition can affect movement, coordination, balance and confidence in everyday life. But exercise doesn’t have to stop when these challenges arise.

At Cotswolds Health & Fitness Club, neurological exercise and rehabilitation are an established part of our work.

Our dedicated studio combines specialist Coordinated Therapy Devices with strength, balance and reaction-based equipment, allowing us to provide structured exercise tailored to individual abilities and goals.

Whether you’re looking to maintain mobility, improve confidence with movement or establish a regular exercise routine, our approach focuses on helping you work towards what matters most to you.

Understanding You, Your Movement and Your Goals

  • We begin by understanding your neurological condition, movement challenges and personal goals.
  • We consider your current abilities, confidence and any relevant advice from your healthcare professionals.
  • Exercises are selected to challenge strength, balance, coordination and movement in ways appropriate to you.
  • Sessions are adapted as your abilities and confidence develop.

Our aim is to provide a supportive environment where you can exercise with appropriate guidance, at a pace that works for you.

Our aim is to help you move forward with confidence, not fear.

Our dedicated neurological exercise studio is equipped with specialist technology designed to challenge more than just muscle strength. By combining Coordinated Therapy Devices with interactive coordination, balance and reaction equipment, we can create varied, individually tailored exercise programmes that go beyond conventional gym-based training.

Our Specialist Neurological Exercise Equipment

Coordinated Therapy Device

The Coordinated Therapy Device uses specially designed arm and leg movements to challenge the way the brain and nervous system control movement. By switching between different coordination patterns — such as moving the arm and leg on the same side together, or coordinating opposite arms and legs — the nervous system must continually adapt to changes in rhythm, timing and movement.

This provides a unique form of neurological exercise, designed to challenge coordination and encourage the nervous system to practise different movement patterns.

Blaze Pods

BlazePods are interactive, light-based training devices that challenge reaction time, coordination, balance and movement.

By responding to different coloured lights, participants practise reaching, stepping, changing direction and making quick decisions. Exercises can be adapted to individual abilities, combining physical movement with attention and reaction challenges in an engaging, enjoyable way.

Batak Reaction Device

The BATAK is an interactive reaction training system that challenges hand-eye coordination, reaction speed, concentration and upper-body movement.

By responding to illuminated targets in different positions and sequences, participants practise reaching, reacting and coordinating movements while processing visual information.

Exercises can be adjusted to suit individual abilities, providing an engaging way to challenge both physical movement and cognitive processing.

Resistance Training Machines

Maintaining muscle strength is an important part of neurological exercise, helping support everyday activities such as standing, walking, climbing stairs and maintaining independence.

Our seated Life Fitness resistance machines provide a stable, supported environment in which to strengthen key muscle groups. With controlled movements and adjustable resistance, exercises can be tailored to individual abilities, allowing participants to build strength and confidence while reducing the balance demands associated with standing exercises.

This makes strength training more accessible, particularly for those who may feel less confident using conventional gym equipment.

Our Neurological Exercise Programmes
